A 12-year-old preacher arrives in a small town surrounded by vast cornfields. He commands the children to murder all the adults so their blood can be used to nourish the crops. Told they can’t dance, play or sing, and that they must sacrifice themselves to the fields on their 18th birthdays, some of the children attempt escape, but bloodthirsty Malachai hunts them down. A young couple on a cross-country trip finds a dead youngster in the road, bringing him into what appears to be a deserted town, they befriend his frightened sister. She tries to explain the evil reign of terror, but the couple soon experiences it for themselves. Live adults aren’t welcome in Gatlin, so they do all they can to escape the possessed town alive.
